Technology does it help or hinder? Real estate agents continually look for easier more efficient ways to do their job. The smart phone has and will continue to dramatically impact how all professionals conduct business.
An Article by Greg Dickason shares this view stating ‘our internet world is being “app-ified” at an amazing rate’. @Homley Tweets the use of Snap chat for property updates. With an app to do almost anything how can we tell if these are making it easier or harderto do our work or making it quicker or slower and more stressful? With so much choice how do you find the app that actually works and you don’t have to spend hours working out how to use it or an IT guru to work out why it’snot doing what its told?
I am a strong believer that Technology can be a huge help to a degree. It is finding the right program or App to do the job properly. The ideal is to find that app that can do more thanone of the jobs efficiently instead ofhaving to open 3 or 4 apps to complete one task. I suggest doing what Mr Dickason does, make a folder in your smart phone called ‘Experimental’ add apps in there that you think or have been told that are helpful and test them out. Use multiple similar apps and find not the best rated one but the one that you would rate the best.
Some great app uses I have found are:
Dictation – take notes on anything, write letter to clients and then email them to yourself for later.
Im still working to find one that is best for android.
Task List – get your task from your PC to you phone and in your calendar. Syncing will be your best friend.
Mobile scanner – just like have a scanner with you in case you need to scan and send docs- problem with this is they cannot be edited and sent as a PDF format.
Electronic signature – still haven’t found the best app to do this. But I no this is an up and coming solution to impulse buying in real estate. How many clients of yours have second guessed themselves while you are getting contracts printed and finding a time to catch them again to sign!
